CRITTER COLLEEN
GREAT PICTURE! No really, we'll get a photo of her as soon as we can get her to stand still!....
I met Alligator Aaron and Amazon John at the Hoosier Association of Science Teachers convention in 2007. I watched one of their presentations for the educators and loved how they combined education, animals, and comedy to teach about animal conservation.
That same year, in the summer, I joined Silly Safaris as a camp counselor for Animal Camp at Silly Safari Station.
When I graduated from Taylor University, I knew that I wanted to work with animals and children. In my classroom, I always incorporated animals into the science curriculum.
After my second year at Animal Camp as a counselr, I realized that this was the life for me! I joined Silly Safaris as a full time funologist!
The name, Critter Colleen, is perfect for me because I grew up out in teh country and always brought home all kinds of critters, much to my mother's dismay!
Some Fun Facts about me, Critter Colleen:
In December, 2007, I married the man of dreams!
I graduated from the School of Education at Taylor University with a Biology degree and teaching certificate.
I moved to Indianapolis from my hometown of Wooster, Ohio.
I love working with Ellie the Elephant (our great big Great Dane Dog, not a real elephant) and I am teaching Truffels the Pig to recycle.
